Commercial flooring in Manhattan runs on tight spaces, tight hours and building rules, from flagship stores to boutiques. NYC Floor Pro has served New York City since 2011, with over 30 years of hands-on flooring experience. We install new wood floors and sand, stain and refinish existing ones in commercial spaces, including overnight phased work for stores that need to reopen the next morning.

Quick answers
- Does the store have to close? Not necessarily. Work can be done overnight in phases so the space reopens the next morning, which is how the Bucherer 1888 project ran.
- Licensed and insured? Yes. We are licensed by the DCA as home improvement contractors and carry all necessary insurance, including $5 million in umbrella coverage. Once the agreement to move forward is signed, we issue the certificate of insurance your building or store needs.
Common questions
1. Can you refinish floors while a store is operating?
Yes. We phase the work overnight so the space can reopen the next day. The Bucherer 1888 flagship on Madison Avenue was done this way across about 10,000 square feet.
2. Do you provide a certificate of insurance for commercial buildings?
Yes. We carry all necessary insurance, including $5 million in umbrella coverage, and we are fully licensed by the DCA as home improvement contractors. We issue the certificate of insurance once the agreement to move forward is signed.
3. Do you also install new hardwood floors?
Yes. New installation is a separate service: subfloor prep, soundproofing where needed, and nail-down or glue-down installation. See the installation page for recent install projects.
