John Danino has spent more than 30 years installing, sanding and refinishing wood floors across New York City. In 2011 he founded NYC Floor Pro, and he still spends his days in the field, doing estimates and overseeing projects.

John inspects every job site himself before the quote goes out, so he knows exactly what the job needs and can choose the right foreman for the project. During the work he passes by to inspect, make sure every detail promised is delivered, and help the crew solve any issues that come up.

That first visit covers what affects price, approach and timing – not just square footage:

  • Subfloor condition and leveling – the number one factor.
  • Front door clearance, and whether any doors need to be cut.
  • How many phases the project needs.
  • How much furniture needs to be handled.
  • Baseboard work.
  • The small technical details that affect the timeframe.

If something unexpected comes up

You are always contacted when an issue appears, with options for solving it. Nothing changes in the work or the contract without your approval.

John makes recommendations based on the job site, the size of the space and the type of subfloor – and the final decision is always yours. You can also sit down with him at the showroom to compare full-size samples from the brands we install.
